Asaram Bapu's lawyer wants CD with 'clips' of women devotees

The lawyer of controversial godman Asaram Bapu moved an application in the Jodhpur sessions court on Thursday for getting a copy of the CD that allegedly contains video clips of women devotees of the religious guru. The arguments on chargesheet against Asaram, accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl, are likely to begin on December 9.

Earlier, in the chargesheet, the police had mentioned that some video clips of women were recovered from the mobile phone of Shiva, who is also in jail for being involved in planning sexual assaults on women at Asaram’s ashram.

“These video clips have been found to be fake and manipulated in FSL report,” Pradeep Choudhary, Asaram’s lawyer told dna. Choudhary said the prosecution lawyer has sought time to submit his reply former’s application.

The district and sessions court had postponed the matter on Monday as the counsels of the parties sought some time.

It may be recalled that Asaram was arrested by Jodhpur police from his Indore ashram on August 31, after he was charged with sexually assaulting  a minor at his Jodhpur ashram on August 16, 2013.
