Youth must choose between the "right and wrong", Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said, describing them as future leaders and major contributors to the growth of the country.

Addressing over 2,000 cadets at the NCC (National Cadet Corps) Republic Day Camp here, Kejriwal underlined the necessity of "giving back" to the country and taking the "patriotic" path. "Youth are the future of the country and each cadet trained by NCC across the country are the leaders of the future and major contributors to the growth of our great nation," the Delhi CM said at the camp, adjacent to Garrison Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment.

On his arrival, he was presented a guard of honour by cadets drawn from all three wings -- Army, Navy and Air Force -- while two band contingents enthralled the crowd. "As good citizens of this country you have a corresponding obligation. Each one of you must decide for yourself what is right and what is wrong. Which course is patriotic and which is not," he said. DG NCC Lt Gen Aniruddha Chakravarty identified the priority areas of the organisation as coastal areas, tribal areas, border areas and increase in the number of girl cadets.

"In mountaineering we conduct two expeditions and this year both the expeditions have been all girls. This was done in the run up to the all girls Mt everest expedition that we plan to carry out in May-June this year," he said. The camp comprising 2,069 cadets, including 695 girls drawn from the 17 NCC Directorates covering all the states and Union Territories, will culminate into the Prime Minister's Rally on January 28.

Kejriwal said a citizen can contribute by partaking in various social services and community development activities undertaken by NCC cadets like "blood donation, anti dowry pledge, anti corruption, anti drugs, and disaster relief work".
