He reflected upon AAP's defeat in Lok Sabha elections and his current victory. He said that the cause for AAP's huge loss during last year's Lok Sabha polls was due to 'arrogance' of fighting elections from many states. "We all—workers, ministers, supporters—need to keep ourselves in check and never be egoistic. AAP workers have been saying they will contest polls from elsewhere now, it is not good. We will have to be careful not to allow 'ahankar' (arrogance) to come in us because of huge mandate," he cautioned.
Exactly one year after he quit over the Jan Lokpal issue, AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal took oath on Saturday at the historic Ramlila Ground as the eighth Chief Minister of Delhi, after leading AAP to a stupendous victory in the assembly polls trouncing BJP. Senior members of the Aam Aadmi Party, Manish Sisodia, Gopal Rai and Satyendra Jain, also took oath as cabinet ministers.
Arvind Kejriwal in his speech after taking oath said, "I knew people of Delhi love me, but didn't know they love me so much. We have come to power again, God has given us a full majority this time unlike the last time. When the results came, it felt like it was raining seats for us."
"People from every sect, religion, rich, poor everyone voted. God is trying to tell us something," Kejriwal added.

"Why did Congress and BJP lose? Because they became arrogant. It was due to our arrogance that we were overambitious in the Lok Sabha elections, we were taught a lesson," Kejriwal said.
He said AAP will be focusing on Delhi for the next years. "I have decided, God has given me a direction, Delhi people gave me love. I will stay in Delhi and work for Delhi," Kejriwal said
He also spoke about maintaining the law and order in Delhi. "Some doctors said people with topis came to hospital and did created trouble, I don't expect our workers to do this."
He assured safety for people of all communities and religions, saying "Delhi Police does not come under Delhi government but we will work together in cooperation; people of all religions will be safe. We want to make a Delhi where everyone feels safe no matter what religion they follow."
He said that incidents like the recent church attacks will not be tolerated. "Some churches have been attacked. Delhi people will not tolerate this. We celebrate all festivals together and we want to go forward together."
Kejriwal also went back to his promise of statehood for Delhi saying that he will work for it. "BJP had promised full statehood to Delhi. But that promise has not been fulfilled," he said.
He went back to his party's origins and main agenda of corruption-free India. He spoke about his conviction about the mission, "When we raised slogans for Lokpal, had a little doubt in our hearts if whether corruption can actually be eradicated from Delhi. We will make Delhi the first corruption free place in India. If anyone asks for a bribe, do not say no. Record the entire thing and bring it to me and we shall take action. We will restart the anti-corruption phone line that we had started," he proposed.
He also said that the AAP government's work should not be judged on the basis of time alone. "We will work 24 hours. I have fever but I had Crocin to come here. The media keeps asking me, '24 hours, 36 hours what will you deliver?' My appeal can't work like that. I request media to not ask me a timeline for the work I want to do. Delhi has given us five years. Will work hard to deliver as soon as possible," he said
