Arunachal Pradesh: 5 tea garden labourers dead, 14 injured in an accident

At least five labourers died while 14 others were seriously injured when a truck rolled down the road and fell into a deep gorge in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh last evening, police said.

The tea garden labourers were on way to Margherita in neighbouring Assam from Changlang, the district headquarters, when the mishap occurred a few kilometres from the headquarter town at around 5.30 PM, SP Amit Sharma said.

While four died on the spot, one succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital, the SP said. All the 14 injured were admitted at district hospital Changlang.

The accident is believed to have been caused by technical snag in the vehicle, Sharma added.
