Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Itanagar urged the Centre to grant a special package for development of border region to check large scale migration of people from there.

In a memorandum submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tuki also urged for expediting of the Greenfield Airport project at Hollongi, near Itanagar, improving air connectivity in the state.

The memorandum also pleaded for fund to improve communication network in the state besides providing safe drinking water to all habitations, exploration of hydropower potentials, creation of three smart cities and establishment of a regional film and television institute in the state.

The other demands include alternative schemes in lieu of Asian Development Bank funded project which was opposed by China, establishment of national institutes like AIIMS, IIT and IIM, establishment of a Sainik school, preparation on a master plan for exploration of state's mineral resources and establishment of regional skill development center.

Earlier, the chief minister while addressing the people on the occasion of 29th Statehood Day, called upon the Centre to harness the immense potential of the state saying that the fund spent by the Centre on the state could be treated as investment for mutual benefits.

Lauding the Centre for the developmental initiatives undertaken, Tuki requested the prime minister to help the state with technical manpower for preparing the 15-year Vision Document with the nomenclature 'Arunachal Vision-2030'.
