Arms worth lakhs of rupees seized in Mizoram village bordering Myanmar

One M-2 rifle, two magazines and one .9mm pistol have been seized from a village bordering Myanmar in Champhai district of Mizoram on Sunday.
Champhai district SP John Laldina said on Monday that two Myanmerese nationals, Tinzalun (38) of Vanzau and R Khanthang (40) of Tuizang are arrested in this connection.
The weapons seized from Khuangphah village were worth around rupees three lakh, he said.
Police were investigating the destination of the contraband and suspected that it was meant for Chakma insurgents in Bangladesh.
