Former Jharkhand chief minister, Arjun Munda belonging to the BJP on Tuesday hinted at the possibility of an alliance with his predecessor Babulal Marandi's Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (P) in the next Assembly elections.

Asked whether an alliance with the JVM was a possibility in the next assembly elections in the state, Munda said nothing was impossible in politics.

"We may consider such an alliance based on issues at an appropriate time," he told newsmen pointing out that it could not be a one-sided affair.

It was the JVM chief who kept saying that he would prefer to jump off the Qutub Minar than return to the BJP, Munda, who shook hands with Marandi, said.

Sought for his reaction, the JVM supremo played it down asking reporters not to read too much into the meeting with Munda on a social platform.

Munda and Marandi were speaking on the sidelines of a premier show of a Santali documentary produced by Santali female singer Rani Mardi.

Marandi had resigned from the Koderma Lok Sabha seat and the primary membership of BJP in 2006 after he was forced to resign from chief ministership to make way for Munda following pressure from allies in 2003.
