One of the most vocal supporters of Kashmiri Pandits, a tweet by Anupam Kher has gone viral where he posted a gruesome picture and wrote: “Here is pic of butchered bodies of Kashmiri Pandits killed by terrorists. No outrage or concern by Pseudo liberals!”
However, the picture invited criticism from some who said Kher had failed to mention that it was an old picture, reportedly from the 1998 Wandhama massacre. While many have accused the actor of spreading hatred, others felt it was wrong to share the picture in these sensitive times. The death toll has risen to 34 in the clashes between stone pelters and security forces since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani last Friday.

Hatemongering is not going to lead us anywhere. The pic is from 1990 and it will only fuel hatred. https://t.co/IAH4Y3b3M3

A pseudo-nationalist tweets 25 year old photographs to Stoke enmity. Did you hear anything from him in 1990? https://t.co/R8lO7xCqxJ

@AnupamPkher It's so irresponsible to post these pics, sir. I wonder wat u'd gain if these pics spark violence and 500 innocents are killed.

Earlier in April, Kher had hit the headlines after trying to visit NIT Srinagar to express solidarity and provide moral support to the students, after trouble at the institute during the World T20 tournament.
