Another train accident: Coach of Jammu Rajdhani Express derails at New Delhi Railway Station

The incident took place around 6.00 am when the train was entering the platform.

A coach of Jammu Tawi-New Delhi Rajdhani Express derailed on Thursday at the New Delhi Railway station in the national capital, but no one was injured in the incident, a Northern Railway spokesperson said.The incident took place around 6.00 am when the train was entering the platform, the spokesperson said.Nobody was injured in the incident, the official said.

This accident has taken place on a day when India is embarking on a new revolutionary chapter in the history of Indian Railways. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today will lay the foundation stone for India's first bullet train project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai which is expected to be completed by 2022.

Recent train mishaps have raised serious questions about the safety of those travelling by trains. 

Utkal Express train accident

On 19 August, the Utkal Express had derailed in Muzaffarnagar district, killing 22 people and injuring  more than156. 

Kaifiyat Express derails
About 100 passengers were wounded when 10 coaches of Kaifiyat Express train derailed after crashing into a dumper which strayed on to the tracks in Auraiya district on 23 August.

Goods train derails near Khandala
Rail traffic on the Pune-Mumbai line was badly affected after six wagons of a goods train derailed near the Khandala ghat section on September 8. 

Kashi Vishwanath Express mishap

The Kashi Vishwanath Express derailed at the New Delhi railway station in the evening on September 9. There were no injuries or casualties, however, as the train was empty and moving to the washing line for maintenance at the time of the incident.
