Terrorists attacked an army patrol party in Haril area of Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning.

No injuries or casualties have been reported as yet.

This was the fourth infiltration bid to have been foiled since the Ramzan truce on May 17. On May 18, five newly infiltrated terrorists were killed close to LoC in Handwara forest. Five terrorists were killed after Army foiled major infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector on May 26.

This comes a day after two soldiers were injured after terrorists attacked an army patrol party near Line of Control fence in Kashmir's Keran sector.

Earlier, terrorists attacked an Army patrol near the Line of Control killing a soldier and injuring another in the Keran sector of Kupwara district even as alert guards foiled terrorist attempt to loot bank cash van in south Kashmir district of Shopian.

The first incident occurred in the hours of Thursday when Army link patrol was on regular duty. Terrorists, hiding ahead of the Line of Control (LoC) fencing, fired indiscriminately leaving two soldiers injured. They were evacuated to the hospital where one of them succumbed to his wounds.

The attack comes 24 hours after Army foiled a major infiltration bid and killed three terrorists when they were trying to sneak in from the other side of Line of Control (LoC) in Macchil sector of Kupwara district.

The reports come at a time Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is in the state to meet people living in border towns.
