A 12-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a youth at Gharipukhpa village in Shamli district, police said today. According to a complaint filed by the victim's family, the girl was raped by the accused Irshad in sugarcane fields in the village yesterday, they said.
On hearing the cries of the girl, some villagers rushed to the spot and handed over the accused to the police after beating him. A case has been registered against the accused.
In the past week alone, there have been several such reported cases.
Father arrested for raping daughter in Latur
The Latur police on Tuesday arrested a 60-year-old man, accused of allegedly raping his minor daughter for the past four years. The accused identified as Sudhakar (60) was arrested yesterday after the 15-year-old-victim lodged a complain against her father with the MIDC police station. A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by five youths in southeast Delhi's Sangam Vihar area, police said on Monday, adding that all the accused have been arrested. According to police, the incident allegedly took place on Saturday evening when the girl, a student of Std X, was taken to meet the accused by a classmate of hers. Another minor gang-raped in Muzaffarnagar
A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two youths at Riyawli village in the district, police said today. The incident took place yesterday in a mango orchard in the village. The girl narrated the incident to her family members who lodged an FIR against the two youths. Police have arrested one of the accused identified as Mehmood while the other accused is absconding. A 11-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by two men at a village in Bihar's Madhubani district on Sunday, police said. A 9-year-old girl was raped and strangulated to death allegedly by a temple priest in Andal town of West Bengal's Burdwan district, police said today. Police today arrested the temple priest in this connection. The girl, a class two student, had gone to the temple to collect flowers yesterday when the priest, who is also the caretaker of the temple in South Bazar allegedly lured her with 'prasad' and sweets and took her to the terrace and raped her, police said.
