Close on the heels of the murder of two engineers in Darbhanga district, another engineer was found dead with injury marks on his body in Vaishali district on Tuesday. The victim, whose body was found in an orchard, was identified as 42-year-old Ankit Kumar Jha, a Quality Engineer of Reliance IT. Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar said local people found the body in the orchard in Kashipur village under Rajapakar police station and informed the local police.

The policemen went to the spot and found it to be that of Jha on the basis of a diary and identity card recovered from his pocket, he said. The body bore multiple injury marks on neck and stomach from a sharp object, the SP said, adding it has been sent for post-mortem at Sadar hospital in Hajipur. Jha, son of Shatrughan Jha, was a native of neighbouring Muzaffarpur district, Kumar said.

A probe was on to find out the motive behind the murder of Reliance IT's Quality Engineer, whose jurisdiction was entire North Bihar, the SP added. The engineer's murder in Vaishali district follows a similar incident in Darbhanga district three days ago in which unidentified assailants shot dead two engineers of a road construction company. Expressing disappointment over the increase in crime in Bihar, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said that it was evident that 'jungle raj' would return in the state post the victory of the grand alliance in the state assembly polls.

BJP leader Rajeev Pratap Rudy lashed out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav for failing to bring the situation under control. "It would not be fair to say that people are paying what they deserve, but we all knew that this is going to happen in Bihar, despite them (Lalu-Nitish) getting victorious. The fact is BJP had promised good governance, people rejected us, they accepted Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar as their leaders," Rudy told ANI.

"?I don't know whether the people of Bihar deserved this. The question may be best posed to Nitish Kumar and much better from Lalu Prasad Yadav. Was this all what is happening in Bihar is a mandate that they had got for?" he asked. The BJP leader also highlighted the recent incidents in Bihar to prove his assertion.

"An engineer's body was found in Vaishali yesterday, two engineers were butchered in Darbhanga, prior to that a businessman was shot in Muzzfarnagar, a Sarpanch was killed in my parliamentary constituency in broad day light," he said.

Nitish Kumar-led government has come under sharp criticism from the opposition parties post the murder of two engineers in Bihar's Darbhanga district.
