After Chhote Lal Kharwar, yet another JP Dalit MP has written a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging atrocities against Dalits under the Yogi Adityanath government in Lucknow.

While The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was celebrating its 38th Foundation Day, the BJP Dalit MP from Etawah Ashok Dohre’s was giving bytes to media. His ‘letter bomb’ was the talk of the town in the power corridors.

Dohre alleged police brutalities against Dalits during the Bharat Bandh on April 2. “The police dragged Dalit youth from their homes and thrashed them mercilessly hurling choicest abuses. Fake cases including NSA were slapped against them. It is an insult to the community members,” he charged and sought immediate intervention of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the matter and action against the erring cops.

Dohre is the second BJP Dalit MP after Chhote Lal Kharwar, party Dalit MP from Robertsganj, who has shot off a letter against the Yogi Adityanath alleging rise in atrocities against Dalits under their own government. Kharwar had gone to the extent of charging the Chief Minister of scolding him and throwing out of his office when he went to meet Yogi Adityanath.

Savitri Bai Phule, another BJP Dalit MP from Behracich, has already held a massive rally in the state capital Lucknow against the Modi government’s attempt to scrap reservations for SC/ST. She has demanded reservations in private sector and promotions.

Breaking his silence for the first time on the growing discontent among party Dalit MPs, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clarified that his government is working for the welfare of all irrespective of their caste and religion. “My government did not discriminate people on basis of their caste and religion. We worked with our motto ‘sabka saath sabka vikaas’.  If anyone has any grievance, they may let me know to take corrective steps,” reacted the Chief Minister.

The BJP state unit and the RSS are baffled the way party Dalit MPs are out to vent their ire against their own government. A senior party state leader confided that a political conspiracy seems to be on by rivals to defame the ruling BJP government by dubbing it anti-government. Bharat bandh on April 2 was a part of the conspiracy, he added.

The leader confided that the party organizing general secretary Sunil Bansal has been given the task of holding an inquiry to find out who is provoking  BJP Dalit MPS and behind the conspiracy. Bansal is likely to prepare a report and brief the party national president Amit Shah during his visit to Luck now on April 10.
