Seeking justice for his son's death, Father of 23-year-old Ankit Saxena, who was stabbed to death in west Delhi's Khyala area on February 1, said that he will be 'thankful' if the Delhi government will help his family in fighting the case. Ankit's father Yashpal Saxena demanded death sentence for those who killed his son. Later Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal met him and assured of providing all possible help.

"We want justice. Murderers of my son should get death sentence. I am an ordinary man and I have no resources to fight the case. If Delhi government helps us in getting best advocates and making a strong case, I will be thankful,"said Ankit's father. Four accused, including a juvenile, were sent to judicial custody on Saturday in connection with the case.

After meeting Ankit's father, Delhi CM retweeted couple of tweets of their interaction. One of it said that the government has assured to provide help to the grieving family. Earlier Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari had met Yashpal Saxena and demanded Rs 1 crore compensation for the gruesome murder. Tiwari also urged not to give communal colour to the incident.

The chief minister expressed grief over the horrific incident during his meeting with the parents of the victim, a government spokesperson said. "He also promised to provide all legal help in punishing the culprits and ensuring best medical treatment to Ankit's mother, who has taken ill," he said.

Yashpal also urged people not to communalise the entire incident. He was quoted by NDTV as saying, "I don't want any inflammatory statements. I feel very saddened by what happened, but I don't want anyone to create a hostile environment against Muslims. I have nothing against any religion," He also said that not all Muslims can be tarred with the same brush and it would be wrong to generalise the incident.

Saxena was stabbed to death by the family members of his girlfriend, who was against their relationship. Saxena was in a relationship with a 20-year-woman. Police arrested woman's father Akbar Ali, mother Shahnaaz, a juvenile younger brother and uncle Mohd. Salim on February 2. They were produced before a court which sent them to judicial custody.
