Amit Shah on three-day visit to Maharashtra, to meet Uddhav Thackeray

BJP president Amit Shah's three-day visit to Maharashtra is scheduled to begin on Friday. Ahead of his visit, BJP state unit president Raosaheb Danve addressed media persons to discuss about Shah's trip.

Since the ties between the two Hindutva parties has been strained for long due to the power tussle between them in Maharashtra, Danve said that Shah's visit to Matoshri is as a part of meeting of NDA alliance leaders. He also made it clear that the meeting isn't linked to the upcoming Presidential polls or hint at possible instability in the state. 

When Danve was asked about Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' statement on mid-terms polls, he refuted the claims and said, "Chief Minister has not made any statement on his own, but it was in response to a question. Fadnavis had said that there wouldn't be any mid-term polls. What he has said is if at all there is a possibility, BJP was ready for polls.'

Danve also mentioned about Uddhav Thackeray's visit to Delhi, to meet of leaders of NDA alliance partners. He said that during that meeting, Thackeray had extended invitation to Shah to visit Matoshri. Reciprocating the gesture, Shah would be meeting Thackeray on Sunday.

Shah is visiting all states over a 110-day tour, part of his efforts to further strengthen the party ahead of the 2019 general election.
