The war of words between Shiv Sena and BJP after Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray's statement last week has resulted in curtailing the three-day tour of BJP National president Amit Shah to a two-day tour. Now, the party president is visiting Maharashtra for only two days on Wednesday and Thursday since the third day programmes of party worker's conventions in Gondia and Amravati have been cancelled.

Thackeray on Saturday had said during a programme organised by a TV channel that it was not only because of Modi wave that BJP-Shiv Sena alliance won 41 Lok Seats in the state. Uddhav had pointed out that if it would have been because of Modi wave, it would have been the same result in Punjab where Akali Dal is BJP's alliance partner.

Leader of the opposition in state legislative council Vinod Tawde told a select media persons, "We want to finish the finalisation of tickets of party candidates by September 20, since the Central Election Committee meeting would be held either on 20 or 21 September." He informed that the seat sharing with Shiv Sena would be formalised in next two days.

When asked about curtailment of Shah's visit by cancelling third day's programme, Tawde said, "We want to expedite the issue of finalising candidates and that is the reason third day's schedule has been canceled. He pointed out that when Shah is there in the state on 17 and 18 September, the leaders would have to accompany him for the Vidarbha tour or else it can send a wrong message. He said, "The scheduled programme at chaundi where the Sangharsh Yatra is concluding on Thursday, can not be changed and that is the reason third day schedule has been cancelled."

Tawde made it clear that BJP does ot want to break the 25-year old alliance with Shiv Sena but at the same time we have an opportunity to make Maharashtra Congress-NCP free. He said that while achieving this, what we are demanding is the seats which Shiv Sena is losing for years.

Reiterating his statement of arresting Ajit Pawar once mega-alliance comes to power, Tawde said, "People of Maharashtra have experienced Moglai (Mughal-Raj) for last 15 years and we would bring Shiv-Shahi, where every corrupt person is punished stringently. I want to tell Pawar that you have shown enough arrogance and now it is time to repay."
