The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked senior party leaders to avoid making "controversial" public statements, sources said.

The gag came a day after AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan alleged senior party leader Kumar Vishwas of hatching a conspiracy to topple Kejriwal as the party Chief. Kejriwal, however, rubbished the allegations saying "Kumar is my younger brother." He also warned party leaders against trying to create divide between him and Vishwas.

Sources in the party said, "Senior leaders have been asked be careful and avoid giving controversial statements to media."

Khan, a member of party's core Political Affairs Committee (PAC) had on Sunday circulated a message saying, "Kumar Vishvas is trying to usurp AAP and break AAP. He is calling MLAs to his residence and saying that he should be made the party convener. Or else, they (MLAs) can join the BJP, which is ready to pay Rs 30 crore to each MLA. This is what (Swaraj India President and expelled AAP leader) Yogendra Yadav also wants.

"I think this is happening at the behest of the BJP. It has deployed four MLAs to take AAP legislators to Kumar Vishvas' house. This has been confirmed by at least 10 party MLAs."

Earlier on Friday, Vishwas rejected party's claims of EVM tampering behind its defeat in the Delhi municipal polls and suggested the leadership of serious "introspection".

"We did not lose the elections because of EVMs. People did not vote for us in enough number. There is mistrust among the people for us,” Kumar had said.

Voices of dissent have been coming from within the party after its defeat in Delhi municipal polls recently.
