Amethi fire: BJP distributes household items among affected families

BJP today distributed household items among the 65 families who lost their belongings in a fire at Pure Nidhan Kuwar village in Gauriganj area of Amethi three days ago.

BJP workers, led by party Rajya Sabha MP Smriti Irani's PA Vijay Kumar Gupta, distributed buckets, mugs and dry food items to the families. Gupta was accompanied by several local BJP leaders.

Irani lost the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections from Amethi to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who had paid a visit to the fire affected people yesterday. Congress too had distributed relief items among the families.

Meanwhile, local MLA and Samajwadi Party leader Rakesh Singh today handed over compensation cheques to the affected families on behalf of the local administration.
