Alwar Lynching: Police arrests 2, search for other suspects on; Vasundhara Raje condemns incident

Police suspects that 5 more people were involved in the murder of the man, identified as Akram, a resident of Haryana.

Police on Saturday arrested two people for their alleged involvement in the lynching of a man in Rajasthan's Alwar. Dharmendra Yadav and Paramjit Singh Sardar, who were present on the spot, have been arrested, police said. 

Police suspects that 5 more people were involved in the murder of the man, identified as Akram, a resident of Kolgaon village in Firozpur Jhirka police station area in Haryana.
 
The incident took place near Lalwandi village in the Ramgarh thana area of Alwar around 1 am.

"The cows were sent to cowshed. Two suspects were taken to police station from the spot and were later arrested after we found their involvement. The investigation is being done to find other culprits. Post-mortem of the body is being done," Hemant Priyadarshi, IG Jaipur, said. 

The suspects - Dharmendra Yadav and Paramjit Singh Sardar - were present on the spot and were arrested after initial inquiry by the police. Police is trying to locate 5 more people.  

Earlier, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had said that two people were being questioned. 

"The incident of alleged lynching of a person transporting bovines in Alwar district is condemnable. Strictest possible action shall be taken against the perpetrators," Raje said. 

"Police is questioning two suspected individuals. I have instructed Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria to investigate the case at the earliest and bring perpetrators to justice," she added. 

Ramgarh police station SHO Subhash Sharma said that a case has been registered against unidentified people under IPC Section 302.

We got a call at around 12.50 that two persons who were in possessions of two cows were being attacked by a crowd on the suspicion of being cow smugglers and rushed there. One of them managed to get away before we arrived. We took the injured to the hospital. On the way, he told that his name was Akram and was from Haryana. He was declared dead by the doctors when we reached the hospital,” said Anil Beniwal, ASP Alwar.

Beniwal said police was trying to identify the attackers and are also trying to look for the other man to know what had happened. We are also checking their previous records, he added.
