Two of the five Hyderabad youth arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for their alleged terror links last week, had disguised themselves as pilgrims to avoid suspicion, while visiting Rajasthan's Ajmer Sharif Dargah. According to sources privy to investigation, the two did not visit the shrine owing to their 'ideology' but were directed to avoid suspicion so that their job in Ajmer was done smoothly.

The duo had travelled to Ajmer in Rajasthan to receive funding for their alleged terror module and purchase ammunition to carry out attacks in the near future, an NIA sources said adding that the two had even purchased a particular kind skull caps used specifically by a Muslim sect who often make pilgrimages to shrines.

Ibrahim Yazdani and Habib Mohamad traveled to Ajmer as well as Nanded in Maharashtra to procure weapons. While their trip to Ajmer was not fruitful as the two were not able to buy the weapons, the accused did manage to procure some weapons in Nanded.

NIA investigators are now looking to nab the arms suppliers in Ajmer and Nanded as well as a suspected middleman who had received money from Syria through Hawala transaction and pass it on to the two accused to purchase weapons and ammunition. The duo while in Ajmer allegedly managed to get money for their future operations, sources said.

Mohamad Parvaiz, brother-in-law of Ibrahim Yazdani, however refuted NIA's claims. "Both Ibrahim and Iliyas did not even crossed Telangana ever since the state was carved out of Andhra Pradesh. They did not go to Ajmer or Nanded," Parvaiz said adding that Ibrahim had quite a busy schedule.

According to Parvaiz, Ibrahim owns a small business of his own wherein he operates from a small shop in Talab Katta area of Hyderabad. "After his degree in engineering he opened a small shop in the area.

People interested to do online shopping from websites like Amazon and so on would go to Ibrahim and he would book the required item for them using his debit/credit card. Amazon would deliver the item at his shop and he would deliver the same to the customer who paid Ibrahim a commission for his services," Parvaiz told dna.

Thirty-year-old Ibrahim Yazdani, who is a computer engineer by profession, had moved to the Chatta bazaar area and his younger brother Ilyas (24) continued to stay in Talab Katta. While Ibrahim is married and has a child as well, his younger brother Iliyas dropped out of his graduation course and was working in Shalimar Online Seva, which is located close to the local police station in Talab Katta. Shalimar Online Seva, according to its online description, is like many private vendors used by the government to distribute pan cards, birth certificates and other identification documents.

NIA however said that Ibrahim was infact the mastermind of the module which had owed allegiance to the dreaded Islamic State of Syria and Iraq and it's leader Abu Bakr Baghdadi. The agency arrested five persons including Ibrahim Yazdani's brother Iliyas, Habeeb Mohammed (32), Mohammed Irfan (27) and Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi (31). According to the agency, the Hyderabad youth had entered into criminal conspiracy to wage war against the Government of India by collecting weapons and explosive materials to commit terrorist acts by targeting public places in various parts of the country.
