IAS and IPS officers continued to throng the residence of chief minister-designate Vasundhara Raje on Wednesday. Besides, several newly elected MLAs too met her.
Among the ones who visited Raje were senior IPS officers Alok Tripathi, Ajeet Singh Shekhawat, Anil Paliwal and BL Soni.
Amid the speculations over who would be heading the Rajasthan Police, Omendra Bhardwaj, who is currently handling the charge of DGP, met Raje at her residence.
Several bureaucrats who were entrusted with key responsibilities in Gehlot government also came to meet Raje.
Kuldeep Ranka, Rajeshwar Singh, R Venkateshwaran and Rajesh Yadav were among the IAS officers who met Raje in the morning hours. Chief minister designate-Raje met the officers in small groups.
Senior IAS and principal secretary of department of personnel (DoP) Sudharshan Sethi and principal secretary of general administrative department (GAD) Rakesh Shrivastava too visited Raje on Wednesday. Jagroop Singh Yadav, chief executive officer of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) too paid a visit to Raje’s residence.
There was a big rush outside her residence in Civil Lines area as a large number of people from all walks of life were regularly coming to meet her.
There has been a guesswork going on regarding formation of new Cabinet. Several key BJP leaders who have won the elections also met Raje on Wednesday.
Rajsamand MLA Kiran Maheshwari visited Raje. Prahlad Gunjal, who defeated Congress stalwart Shanti Dhariwal in Kota, also met and congratulated Raje for the thumping majority that the party got in the Assembly elections.
Pratap Singh Singhvi, who was a minister in the previous BJP government, was also present at Raje’s house during the early part of the day.
Some BJP candidates who lost the elections like Radhey Shyam Ganganagar and Subhash Maharia also visited Raje’s residence. KL Jain, general secretary of Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also met her on Wednesday.
Party workers from Bhilwara, Dholpur and other areas too came in large numbers to meet Raje.
