ISRO on Thursday said almost all government departments and ministries have evinced keen interest in applying space technology to carry out their mandates.

"Almost all government departments and ministries have evinced keen interest in applying space technology for carrying out their mandates," ISRO chairman A S Kiran Kumar said.

To meet the increased demand for space-based services, it was imperative that ISRO join hands with industry in its effort towards enhancing its capacity, he said addressing delegates at the 'Make in India' conference on 'Enabling Spacecraft Systems Realisation Through Industries', organised at ISRO Satellite Centre here.

He also impressed on delegates India's huge potential to capture a sizable portion of business in the international space market.

ISRO Satellite Centre Director M Annadurai said it's goal to launch at least 10 to 12 satellites every year would necessarily have to be driven by a synergistic collaboration between ISRO and industry since such a partnership would be a 'win-win situation' for both.

He also announced that the Expression of Interest for realising spacecraft on an end-to-end basis has been hosted on ISRO/ISAC websites and invited industries to respond to it.

Chief Guest Arvind Melligeri, Chairman and CEO of Aequs Private Limited, commended the good work ISRO had done so far and opined that enhanced industry participation in Indian Space Programme would take this to greater heights.

Senior executives of ISAC/ISRO gave an insight into the requirements of ISRO with respect to hardware, technologies, quality and delivery schedule and what was essential for them to be qualified vendors of ISRO.

About 110 Industries in aerospace business participated in the Conference.
