Ajay Maken to take charge as Delhi Congress president today

Congress leader Ajay Maken will take charge as the new Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief in Delhi on Sunday.

Earlier, Congress had appointed five new PCC chiefs and one regional Congress Committee President.

Apart from Ajay Maken, the other new PCC chiefs are: Ashok Chavan in Maharashtra, Ghulam Ahmed Mir in Jammu and Kashmir Bharatsinh Solanki in Gujarat and Uttam Reddy in Telangana, says reports.

AICC secretary Sanjay Nirupam has been appointed the chief of Mumbai Regional Congress Committee.

This move comes ahead of possible elevation of Rahul Gandhi as party president at the AICC session next month.
