After celebrating the festival of Lord Krishna's birth, Janmasthami, today people in India is observing Aja Ekadashi fast. Aja Ekadashi is celebrated in the Krishna Paksha period in the holy month of ‘Brahapada’ as per the Hindu Calendar. People worship Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi on this day. It is believed that if you keep fast on this day, you and your family will be blessed with health, wealth and prosperity and your all sins will be forgiven. 

It is believed that Lord Krishna asked Arjun to observe Aja Ekadashi to please Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
