The Supreme Court on Friday said that the four accused in the Aircel-Maxis case will have to appear in Special Court. The next date for the hearing is February 3.
SC stayed the transfer of 2G licence from Malaysia's Maxis, which was originally alloted to Aircel, to any other telecom company.
The court said that the Aircel spectrum was to be seized and transferred in two weeks if the controller and owners did not appear in court in connection with the case. "If T Ananthakrishnan and Ralps Marshall of Maxis fail to appear in court on Jan 27, the 2G license granted to Aircel in 2006 shall be ceased, " the Supreme Court said.
SC proposed to restrain earning of any revenue by using the 2G spectrum licences which were originally granted to Aircel. The court asked the Department of Telecommunications to devise ways to avoid adverse impact .
