Air India's Delhi-Hong Kong flight made an emergency landing at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra International Airport on Tuesday evening.
Around 8.20 pm, the flight developed a snag in its right-side engine and had to be diverted to make an emergency landing at the Kolkata airport.
According to Air India officials, all 158 passengers on board were safely evacuated. Officials in Air India say that the passengers will be provided another aircraft at around 11.30 pm and will be able to carry on with their journey.
Just a week ago, the same airline’s Kolkata-Delhi flight carrying 236 passengers was delayed after the pilot came across a technical snag. The delayed flight left passengers stranded for over 14 hours.
