Leaders of the All India Milli Council (AIMC) said that they would put up a national convention in Delhi on July 30. Here a committee would be formed to provide legal help to families whose members have been lynched by members of the saffron brigade.

"There had been communal riots during Congress' reign too and during that time the government tried to normalise the situation. Now relentless efforts are being made to spread communal tension everywhere. In the last three years, as many as 77 cases of lynching had been witnessed. We will organise a national convention titled 'Save the Constitution and Build the Nation' on July 30 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi where a committee will be formed with representatives from across the country. The committee, among other activities will help families of lynching victims with legal aid," said Dr Md Manzoor Alam, General Secretary, All India Milli Council at a press conference on Thursday.

Referring to the newly-elected President Ram Nath Kovind, he said, "Tomorrow itself we will send a congratulatory note to the new President from the Council and we will urge him to maintain the values of the constitution without being biased," Dr Alam said.
