Tamil Nadu government's fragile stability is on a shaky grounds again.

Many important AIADMK leaders from Tirunelveli district, Nainar Nagendran on Saturday joined the BJP in New Delhi in the presence of its chief Amit Shah.

The latest development may not mean much to Chief Minister and the impending floor test, but it will give the BJP much-needed base in the southern state.

Most of the leaders who joined the BJP said they were dismayed by the leadership vacuum   in the AIADMK.

On the other hand, Chief Minister EPS has the trust vote on his mind. The Palaniswami government would need 117 votes to win the trust vote. If the rebel 19 lawmakers were disqualified under the anti-defection law, that would have meant some respite for EPS.

However, with the rebels are staying put with their demands and have been opposing the AIADMK merger.

Among those who joined the BJP on Saturday include former Industries Minister Nainar Nagendran, former MLA of Arcot and AIADMK cadre Srinivasan and ex-Vellore Mayor P Karthiyayini.
