After NTPC, two injured in Anpara plant blast

In less than 24 hour after the boiler blast in Unchahaar, two labours sustained serious burn injuries when a coal firing pipe exploded in Anpara Thermal Power Plant in Sonebhadra district in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday afternoon.

The injured have been identified as Pramod and Pervez. They were working near the coal firing pipe when the blast occurred. Both of them have sustained serious burn injuries. They have been admitted in the hospital.

It is the second case of explosion in any Thermal Power Plant in Uttar Pradesh in less than 24 hour after the boiler blast at NTPC's Unchahaar Thrrmal Power plant in which over 30 people were killed and over 100 injured.

An inquiry has been ordered by Anpara Thermal Power Plant authorities to ascertain reasons behind the bast in the coal firing pipe. Authorities have also issued directions to review and step up safety measures at the plant.
