Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh assured full support for the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) in cinema halls, said Film & Television Producers Guild of India president Mukesh Bhatt.

Speaking to media after their meeting, Mukesh Bhatt said, "Rajnath Singh ji assured us 100% support and that he will convey to CM to maintain law and order." He also said that the Home Minister said he would speak to the chief minister of every state and that ADHM will release without any violence or issue.

Bhatt and Apoorva Mehta from Dharma Productions, the studio behind ADHM, met Singh to discuss the smooth release of the upcoming film.

The Raj Thackeray-led MNS has asked theatre management not to hold any show of ADHM which features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in a cameo.

Meanwhile, reacting to MNS threat, Union Minister Babul Supriyo said that Raj Thackeray's party was full of goons. "MNS should not have the right or audacity to create ruckus at theatres, they have always been a party of goon," Babul Supriyo told reporters.

Before meeting Singh, Bhatt had said, "Those who don't want to watch the film are free to not watch it, but they should not stop others."

On Wednesday, police arrested a dozen workers of MNS for protesting against the upcoming release of ADHM as the party rejected his statement that he will not "engage with talent" from Pakistan in future.

MNS cine wing head Amey Khopkar, after a meeting with senior party leaders and Raj Thackeray, said they were firmly opposing the release.

The MNS and some other political parties have opposed release of films with actors from Pakistan after the Uri terror attack, putting a question mark on the fate of Johar's movie, slated for release on October 28.
