Actor TK Balachandran passes away

Balachandran, a former president of the South Indian Film Chamber, had also produced 18 films in Malayalam.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Malayalam film actor and producer T K Balachandran died here at his residence on Thursday night following a brief illness,

He was 78. He is survived by his wife and a son.

Balachandran was under treatment for cancer.

Starting his acting career at 13 in the Malayalam film, Prahlada, in 1940, Balachandran popularly known as TKB in the film world, had acted in more than 400 films in various
languages, including 200 in Malayalam.

Balachandran, a former president of the South Indian Film Chamber, had also produced 18 films in Malayalam.
