An activist on Friday moved a local court in Bandra here seeking to file a nuisance lawsuit against Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan for "illegally" constructing a ramp adjoining his residence.

"We filed the complaint today, which the court has admitted and the case is likely to come up for hearing next month," advocate Vivian D'Souza, who filed the complaint on behalf of activist Nicholas Almeida, said.

Other than the actor, Commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Sitaram Kunte and his three subordinates have also been made respondents in the case.

Almeida claimed that he had complained against the superstar on this issue to the civic authorities about the illegal construction of a ramp road next to his (Shah Rukh's) 'Mannat' bungalow without any approval of the competent authorities.

"The said illegal ramp constructed by Khan is an important thoroughfare, especially during the Bandra fair which is being held every year in the month of September since the last three centuries," the complainant said in his plea. Almeida said that he had been approaching different authorities for the demolition of the ramp and further alleged that the municipal authorities had failed to maintain the cement road free of illegal construction.

"Despite repeated complaints, the accused have failed to remove the illegal ramp and there has been a gross negligence on their part in not maintaining the road in motorable condition," Almeida said in the complaint.
