Earlier in the day the Indian-born radiologist and founder of VPS Healthcare Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, of which Burjeel hospital is a part, visited Eman. A team of doctors from his hospital had met Eman to assess her medical condition on Wednesday.
Less than three months after she was brought to Saifee hospital in Mumbai with much fanfare, the hospital has decided to shift Eman to Abu Dhabi.
"As the treatment here concludes, she is being shifted to Burjeel hospital in UAE. Secondary physiotherapy will continue over there as it is closer to home for Eman and her family," said Dr Aparna Bhasker, section chief of bariatric surgery, Saifee hospital, Mumbai in a statement on Thursday.
But Maharashtra's health minister has backed Dr Muffazal Lakdawala after meeting Eman on Thursday. He lauded Eman's weight reduction and in his tweet said, "I congratulate the entire Saifee hospital team."

While Saifee has claimed that the family was introduced to the Dr Vayalil by bariatric surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, Eman's sister Shaimaa Selim disagrees. "I was in touch with them before coming to Saifee hospital. I was also in touch with another hospital in Dubai," she says.
Things started turning hostile between Shaimaa and Dr Lakdawala around a fortnight back when the doctors said that Eman would be discharged.
"It is my right to seek the best treatment for my sister and so I approached other hospitals. I will go to any country that offers to treat Eman," said Shaimaa Selim.
It is a confidence that Eman's treating doctors do not share. "Eman's legs are disfigured and she can never walk," said Dr Bhasker, something that Shaimaa is not willing to accept. For now travel arrangements are to be made and Eman will once again travel across countries in the hope of a better treatment.
