Participating in a Kavi Sammelan in Amethi from where he had contested Lok Sabha polls in 2014 against AICC President Rahul Gandhi, Vishvas in a poetic tone said, “Before anyone makes fun of me, I am saying on my own that everyone wants to honour me as I am the youngest Advani in politics.
His comparison with Advani reflected his pain of not being given a Rajya Sabha berth despite working hard to establish AAP in politics.
During the Kavi Sammelan, Vishvas took a dig at the Prime Minister Narendra Mdi, AICC Presdient and AAP leaders. “Modji saved money for a year to deposit Rs 15 lakh in everyone’s accounts as promised but what to do when people close to him run away with the money he saved for you. First Vijay Mallya and now Nirav Modi,” said he taking a jibe at PM’s false promises.
Lauding patience of Amethi people, he jokingly said that potholes he had left four years ago remained there. “For the last 40 years, people of Amethi are awaiting development but it remained elusive. I salute your patience,” said Vishvas ridiculing Rahul Gandhi’s style of development.
Vishvas also took a dig at the AAP leadersip and rued that while he worked hard for the party, reward always goes to someone else. “When I fought Lok Sabha polls from Amethi all alone, Pujya Pitajai (read Dr Sanjai Singh of Congress) was sent to Rajya Sabha. Now another Sanjay Singh got a berth due to me. My job in the party is now fixed to sending all Sanjays to Rajya Sabha,” he said amid thunderous applause.
Vishvas had contested against Rahul Gandhi and Smriti Irani from Amethi. He was relegated to fourth position.
