Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said the conversion rates of plots in the resettlement colonies was beyond the reach of poor people and demanded the Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung to make it affordable.

Kejriwal, in a letter to Jung, pointed out that rates for conversion of plots, to freehold, in resettlement colonies should be within the reach of residents living there. Former education and PWD minister, Manish Sisodia, met the LG and handed over his letter.

AAP has demanded that these charges should be fixed at Rs 10,000 for the original allottees and at Rs 50,000 for any subsequent transaction.

The LG discussed the matter with Sisodia and said he will consider the demand, the party said.

AAP has decided to include this demand in its election manifesto for the coming assembly elections and the party will implement it on being voted to power in Delhi.
