During an anti-drug drive in the national capital, MLA of Aam Admi Party from Chandni Chowk Alka Lamba was attacked by  some unidentified men in North Delhi's Kashmere Gate area on Sunday morning.

After being pelted stones Lamba got a minor head injury and she was taken to the hospital for treatment. On the occassion of the Quit India Movement Day also known as August Kranti Diwas on August 9, Lamba had initiated a anti-drug drive and had started her rally at 5 am in the morning on Sunday from Yamuna Bazar, Kashmere Gate. A couple of hours ago Lamba herself tweeted about being attacked.

"This is the result of my fight against drugs. They attacked me and my head was injured, but despite my blood spilled, I won't back down", wrote Alka Lamba on micro-blogging site Twitter. She said that the fight against drug will continue.

Police so far have detained one person for questioning in connection to this incident.  AAP Spokesperson Ashutosh has tweeted calling the entire incident a deep conspiracy hatched by the Bhartiya janata party. In his tweet he writes that the man who hit Alka worked in a sweet shop owned by the current BJP MLA Om Prakash Sharma.

He asked why was it Alka alone to be attacked. She was amidst the crowd and nobody else was hit or injured. "AAP will fight back", says Ashutosh.
