Aam Aadmi Party on Monday came out with purported videos in a bid to back up its claim that a group of BJP workers were involved in attacking AAP volunteers three days ago and alleged that the assault was "premeditated".

The party also alleged that those who attacked its workers were supporters and relatives of South Delhi BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri. Bidhuri, however, strongly rejected the allegations, terming them as baseless and politically motivated.

"All the allegations are baseless. Neither me nor my family has any role in the incident," he said, adding he has sent a legal notice to AAP's Delhi convenor Ashtosh for making derogatory comments against him.

A clash had broken out between AAP and BJP workers on Saturday evening during shooting for a TV news debate and vehicle belonging to AAP's Tughlakabad candidate Sahi Ram was torched later. At least 12 people were injured in the clash.

"The videos nail the BJP's lie that it was a clash. The footage makes it clear that nephew of the BJP MP directed the mob to attack the AAP volunteers in the TV show. The attack was premeditated," the AAP said in a statement. Addressing a news conference, AAP leaders Ashutosh and Ashish Khetan claimed that the BJP workers brought iron rods and sticks along with them to attack AAP volunteers.

"It is also clear from the videos that some family members of the MP had reached the TV channel debate with weapons," Ashutosh alleged. They demanded that the South Delhi MP should be sacked from the BJP.

"With the video as the evidence, we challenge him to quit politics or else the BJP should sack him," Ashutosh said, adding based on the video, police should take action against those involved in the attack.

He also rubbished BJP's allegation that AAP volunteers had themselves set the vehicle on fire. Recently, the AAP had filed a defamation against Bidhuri after he raised doubt about the transparency in its donation collection.
