The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) hopes to enrol at least one crore new members by January 26 during the course of their special “Main Bhi Aam Aadmi” drive, which was launched on Friday.

“AAP has been receiving a tremendous response from people across India and we have seen a huge jump in our members since December 8,”a senior AAP leader told dna. “For this reason, we’ve started this drive and waived off the joining fee of Rs 10. Our target is to enroll at least one crore new members by January 26.”

The maximum number of new members are from Maharashtra, Karanatka, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and West Bengal.

To join the new party, people can fill a form on the party’s website (aamaadmiparty.org/join-us). People can also send an SMS with their name, STD code and assembly constituency to 07798220033. “They will get a membership number through SMS,” the leader added. One can also give a missed call at 07798220033 to become a member.

AAP volunteers across India have also been instructed to intensify their door-to-door campaigns to increase the party’s base across the country.
