A day after being sworn-in again, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar settled down to work as he held a series of meetings since Monday morning. In the morning, Kumar saw off Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who left for Kolkata after attending last evening's function and thanked Banerjee for her visit, an official release said here. The chief minister then reached state secretariat at 10:30 AM and disposed some pending files, it said. He had a meeting with Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, who welcomed Kumar to the office.

Kumar then held meeting with officials of energy and health departments, which he looks after, and gave necessary direction to them, the release added. Kumar had pledged on Sunday to take forward the work of "good governance", hours after taking oath as the chief minister of Bihar for the fourth time.

"My priority will be the same to carry forward the task of 'sushashan' (good governance) the roadmap of which I had prepared. I will work overtime to undo the damage done to 'sushashan' in past few months," he told reporters last evening.
