A team led by Special Secretary Protocol conducted a surprise check in Punjab Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh and found as many as 80 officers or officials absent from their offices, said a spokesman.

As many as eighty government officials including two IAS officers were found absent from their offices on Tuesday during a surprise check conducted on the directions of Punjab Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal in children.
A team led by Special Secretary Protocol conducted a surprise check in Punjab Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh and found as many as 80 officers or officials absent from their offices, said a spokesman.
IAS officers Praveen Thind and Rahul Tiwari were found absent amongst 80 officers from their offices located in the Civil Secretariat, he said.
During the surprise check, a total 38 branches were checked at 9.10 AM, he said. Strict departmental administrative action will be initiated against officials who were found absent, he said.
