75 kg of banned medicinal herb seized in Jammu and Kashmir

Police have seized 75 kg of banned medicinal herb Nagchattri and booked two smugglers in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. Police arrested one Surjeet Singh in Mangal Thatha in the district and recovered 15 kg of Nagchattri from his possession last evening, a police officer said here.

A case has been registered against him at Doda police station and investigations are on into the matter, the officer said. Meanwhile, 60 kg unclaimed Nagchattri was recovered from the Khellani road, which had been dumped by an unidentified person, the officer said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
