Ever thought of commuting on a cycle with your family by your side just like you do in a car? Chennai’s start up, Pedal 2 Go is working towards making cycling  a group experience by designing three and four wheeled cycles on which more than 1 individual can sit at a time.

The founder of Pedal 2 Go and creator of these cycles, Kumar Natarajan says, “My reason for building these cycles is pure selfishness. I am 50 years old and realised that no matter how safely I ride the bicycle, I could always get hit by someone else. In our concept cycle, there is very little possibility of falling down and even if you, you will not endure any fatal injuries.” Additionally, these cycles are eco-friendly and allows one to carry luggage.

He started off by building such a cycle for himself. However, encouraged by the positive response it received and the prime minister’s Make In India initiative, he thought of starting Pedal 2 Go. With his team of 4 workmen, Natarajan has manufactured and sold 20 such cycles so far. “This has given us confidence to expand our operations across the country. And then even to the world,” says Natarajan, who owns two wedding halls in Chennai and has also worked as a voice artist and actor. This expansion will need funds. Funds that he is hoping to raise on Milaap.
