48 arrested for 'obscene' dance in Telangana

As many as 48 persons, including eight women dancers, were arrested for allegedly indulging in obscene acts at a resort in Shadnagar town of Mahabubnagar district in Telangana, police said today.

"Based on information, police raided the resort premises late last night and found that 48 persons, including female dancers, who were brought from Hyderabad, dancing in an obscene manner," Shadnagar Sub-Inspector Shankeraiah said.

A case was booked against all the 48 accused persons under section 294 (obscene acts and songs) and other relevant sections of the IPC and all of them were arrested, he said.

No narcotic drugs were seized from the spot, Shankeraiah said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
