On Saturday, a little girl aged four, climbed onto the conveyor belt near a check-in counter at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, causing quite a scare.

The child crossed one of five levels of the inline baggage system before she was rescued by Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Thankfully, she did not suffer any injuries.

The girl’s parents were at the Go Air check-in counter at around 7 pm when she managed to climb on to the belt, according to a Hindustan Times report. Though her mother tried to reach her, the conveyor belt took the child to level two, before it was stopped and she was rescued.

Later, after a medical check up, the child was declared fit to travel. The family was scheduled to travel to Mumbai by G8 342 at 8:50 pm.

The incident created quite a lot of disturbance at the airport, compelling airport officials to reiterate that parents must be alert and supervise their children at all times.
