4 held for extorting money from candidates in Army recruitment

The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Rajasthan police today arrested four persons for allegedly extorting money from candidates appearing in Army recruitment rallies on the promise of getting them jobs.

Arjun Singh, Nand Singh Rathore, Sunil Vyas and Mahendra Singh were arrested from different locations in Udaipur and Jaipur, said ADG of ATS-SOG Umesh Mishra.

Following inputs from Military Intelligence, a team of ATS officials caught Arjun Singh, a resident of Bikaner, from Udaipur yesterday and recovered original documents of some candidates from him.

On his information, the ATS today detained Nand Singh Rathore at Murlipura in Jaipur and recovered Rs. 1.79 crore in cash, documents of candidates and a register containing details of monetary transactions.

Names of Sunil Vyas and Mahendra Singh also cropped up during the probe so they were also picked up from their respective places in Jaipur.
