The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Karimangar authorities are said to be discussing the idea of providing free Wi-Fi services in 30 villages in Telangana.

According to a report in The New Indian Express, free Wi-Fi would be provided through hotspots in 30 villages in the Karimangar, Sircilla mandals and at NTPC township in Ramagundam.

BSNL Deputy General Manager (Planning) SA Srinivasa Charyulu has told the daily that they have already conducted a survey with regard to this in 10 villages in Sircilla mandal. This proposal has now been sent to New Delhi for approval.

The hotspots can apparently be used by the customer of any network three times a month for a maximum time of 20 minutes every time. Once the free service has been exhausted by the customer, they can still use the Wi-Fi by buying  BSNL data vouchers. They are also looking at providing this service to educational institutions. Customers can contact BSNL at this toll free number 18004255300, the report says.
