Amid outcry over insensitive approach shown by police personnel, three cops in Saharanpur were today suspended for allegedly refusing to take accident victims to the hospital. A departmental probe has also been ordered against the policemen, a top official said.

"The concerned policemen were suspended immediately. We will receive a report within 24 hours after which we will take action accordingly," said Saharanpur Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Prabal Pratap Singh told ANI.

Earlier, a video showing cops refusing to let accident victims in their patrol car went viral, generating huge outrage on social media. Refusing to take the victims to hospital, cops were heard saying that it would ‘soil their car seats with blood stains.’

The shocking incident took place on Friday night when the two youth fell into a canal after their bike rammed into an electric pole.

A young man was shown in the video crying and pleading the police to help his friends.

As he was pleading he begged a man standing nearby to check the pulse of his heavily bleeding friend and was replied with "he is dead."

"Bhaiya iski body thandi ho rhi hai. Kuch to karo. (His body is getting cold, please do something.)," the friend pleaded.

However, the police officials at the scene did not take any action. The video shows a car or two stopping but then after a brief conversation, moving away from the scene.

The father of one of the teens today said it was a ‘murder’ as the boy could have been saved had he reached the hospital in time.

"Had my child received first aid on time, he could have been saved. Even the doctors say that," father of one of the 17-year-old boys told news agency ANI.
