3 more cases of swine flu detected in Delhi

Three persons, including a mother-son duo, have tested positive for swine flu in the national capital, taking the number of H1N1 influenza cases reported in the city to 35 this year.

A five-year-old child and his 33-year-old mother, both residents of INA colony, tested positive for swine flu after they underwent a check up at a clinic here. Another 33-year-old woman also tested positive, said Charan Singh, Additional Director (Public Health), Delhi Government.

"With these, nine cases of swine flu have been reported in the national capital so far this month," he added.

Singh said a total 35 cases of swine flu have been reported in Delhi since January 1 till date.

Meanwhile, a 32-year-old woman from Ghaziabad has been suspected to be infected with the swine flu virus and is currently undergoing treatment at RML Hospital.

"The woman was referred by Anand Hospital and was later diagnosed positive for swine flu in that hospital. However, we will send her samples to National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for reconfirmation," said Dr HK Kar, Medical Superintendent at RML Hospital.
