Congress said that PM Modi and Rajnath Singh should explain to the country who in their govt is the 'manipulative hand' in the 2008 Malegaon blast case and carrying out the miscarriage of justice.
Congress on Wednesday demanded immediate removal of NIA chief in the wake of an order of a special court in the Malegaon Blast case, alleging that it showed how the probe agency is being used to exonerate BJP and RSS sympathisers.
"The latest pronouncement by the Court on the Malegaon blast case has again highlighted how NIA is being used to exonerate BJP/RSS sympathisers", party spokesperson Shobha Oza told reporters underlining that the Court has observed that prima facie, Sadhvi Pragya remains an accused in the case.
Insisting that doubts are being raised on the functioning of the NIA, she said that it is a cause for concern for the country.
Demanding reinstatement of special prosecutor Rohini Salian who had accused the NIA of telling her to go soft on the BJP/RSS sympathisers, she claimed that the way the NIA is working to "weaken the case is worrisome". She also accused the government of "tampering" with the chargesheet framed by the ATS in the Malegaon case.

On the Ishrat Jahan case, she wanted the government to release the B K Prasad committee report and refrain from resorting allegations against the opposition. On BJP Chief Amit Shah's statement that a "large section" believes that Jan Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mookerjee's death was in fact "murder" , Oza asked whether any of their organization members had raised the question then.
"Now the year 2016 is going on. Where was Atal Ji's Government? Why did they not raise this question then and get the investigation done. It is their Government in both Centre and J&K now. They should answer rather than raising questions, even on Deen Dayal Upadhyay".
Party General Secretary C P Joshi attacked the government for providing a "meagre" outlay of Rs 94 crore for the Panchayat Raj Ministry despite the fact that it looked after the third tier of government.
