"Two hundred Pakistani militants in 36 launch pads across Pir Panchal range are waiting to infiltrate into India," Lieutenant General KH Singh said on Thursday.

Lieutenant General KH Singh added, "There are inputs that terrorists might try to attack soft targets including schools and civilian areas ahead of US President's visit. Every possibility that Pakistan will try to divert some of the fringe elements of the home grown terrorist outfits to Indian side."

However, stating that Indian Army is prepared  for any eventuality, for anything that may unfold, he added, "Situations in the Line of Control, south of Pir Panjal is by and large peaceful at least for last two months. Our counter infiltration posture is firmly in place, infiltration bid will be eliminated if any attempt is made."

On December 3, 2014, in multiple attacks, militants stormed an Army camp in Uri in Baramulla district, killing 11 security personnel, including a Lt Col, and targeted a police party in Shopian while a top LeT commander was killed in an encounter.
